Plans are underway for the relocation of the remains of founding President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta from his present resting place at parliament mausoleum to his Gatundu home, informed sources have revealed.

According to the source, ever since President Uhuru Kenyatta announced during Mzee’s 2019 memorial service that it would be the last public memorial service, arrangements have been in full gear to lay the country’s founding president remains away at a new mausoleum in Gtundu.

August 22 1978 was described as the day Kenya “lost its eyes” when President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta passed on quietly in his sleep at Statehouse Mombasa. He had been in power for 15 years.
