Residents of Bumala B in Butula constituency, Busia County, woke up on Saturday morning in a sombre mood after a casual worker at Bumala B hospital was found dead at the facility in unclear circumstances. Police officers declined to release the deceased name until his kin is notified. 

The man is said to have worked at the facility as a casual worker, he is believed to have committed suicide, though the police are still conducting investigations into the matter. Some villagers allege the man may have taken his own life after failing to provide for his family after having worked for 6 months without pay. 

The hospital management according to a resident who sought anonymity, villagers tried to urge him against taking his own life without success. Angry residents directed their anger to the Busia County CEC of health Moses Mulomi whom they believe has slept on the job.
