Runaway female cop Caroline Kangogo, the policewoman who has been evading a police dragnet for the last week, has died after she allegedly committed suicide, turning her gun on herself, according to the police. The cop is alleged to have shot herself in a bathroom within her parents’ home in Kericho ending days of a futile search for her by the police.
She was on the run after murdering a Nakuru police constable and Kiambu based businessman in cold blood, both believed to have been her lovers. That brings to a tragic end for the woman whom some medics have described as possibly suffering from “personality disorders” and who could have easily disguised herself and fled the country. The sources had claimed the wanted woman enjoyed “inside help” which was why she eluded police for more than a week.
Kangogo’s first victim was Police Constable John Ogweno, who was found dead in his car at Kasarani Police Line in Nakuru. She fled with the deceased’s firearm, a Ceska pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition
Kangogo carries to her grave secrets why she chose to do what she did, killing her lovers in cold blood. Detectives will be trying to piece together evidence to comprehend the police woman’s final days and why she killed the Embu businessman after a night at lodging. Kenya’s DCI is understood to have circulated Caroline photos on all social media platforms including Interpol and neighbouring countries. Kangogo’s first victim was Police Constable John Ogweno, who was found dead in his car at Kasarani Police Line in Nakuru. She fled with the deceased’s firearm, a Ceska pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition. Her second victim was a 32-year-old man identified as Peter Ndwiga, a resident of Juja, in Kiambu county.
Kangogo, 33, was described as a well-trained police officer who pursued a shooting range course at Kiganjo and later a corporal course at the same institution. She was reportedly married to a police inspector based in Mombasa, she has left young children. She had served in four different police stations, colleagues described her as a social person who also knew how to deal with prisoners.
