Governor Wangamati has not distributed resources equally in Bungoma as some projects are concentrated in one constituency, Kanduyi,”-Lusaka
Bungoma County Kenya Kwanza gubernatorial aspirant Ken Lusaka claimed that DAP-K Senatorial aspirant Prof. Charles Ngome cannot beat Senator Wetang’ula from his current position in the coming polls.
Mr Lusaka was in Mt. Elgon on Thursday from where he pledged to distribute resources evenly within the county if he wins the gubernatorial race. “The current County boss governor Wangamati has not distributed resources equally in Bungoma as some projects are concentrated in one constituency, Kanduyi,” Lusaka said. Lusaka who is backing DP President William Ruto urged the region to rally behind his bid saying that if he wins the elections small business operators will be funded as the government will set aside funds for the same.
“Devolution came to support small business operators to run their business so that they can depend on themselves,” Lusaka said. Lusaka said that he won’t scrap off the scholarship program as his opponents put it but he will streamline it to ensure that many poor but bright students benefit.
“I am not mad to do away with the scholarship, the current scholarship run by governor Wangamati only benefits a few, immediately I take over the county leadership I will support pupils who have scored below average marks,” he said, adding that there is no bright and stupid student assuring that all of them need to get an education.
The Ford Kenya aspirant dismissed his critics for going around the county feeding and launching empty projects saying that the national government capitation was done away with and it will be back after the August polls. He said that Mt. Elgon is his stronghold adding that it is the reason why he gave them the position of Deputy Governor, faulting Mr Wangamati for neglecting the region.
“When my former deputy governor abandoned me and joined the Wangamati’s team I thought he was to be his running mate but he went on and picked another guy from Webuye,” Lusaka said. Lusaka campaigned in the areas of Kaboywo, Kongit, Chemwesis, Nomorio, Kamuneru and Chelebei. Lusaka added that during his regime as the governor he initiated many development projects in the Mt. Elgon region which changed the livelihoods of the residents
