Nangina Ward MCA in Funyula constituency, Hon. John Obwogo has openly blasted his governor Sospeter Ojaamong of Busia County, accusing him of preaching ethnic hatred among the different communities in the county.

The MCA was speaking at an education day function at Samia girl’s secondary school. He advised the governor to leave behind a legacy of unity not division. “The politics of herding one community against the other, is too detrimental to the unity of our communities in the entire county, ” Mr Obwago lamented, “If he thinks that he can block some aspirants from freely walking in and out of Teso, then we shall also do the same to him and his preferred candidate in our areas if that is what he wants” he added.

“Ojaamong is a poor student of history, he should have learnt a lesson from Moi who tried to force Uhuru Kenyatta down our throats in the 2002 presidential elections, his endorsement was soundly defeated” Hon. Obwago said

He went further saying that during the 2017 elections, they supported Ojaamong despite being hailing from the same area as his main competitor Hon. Paul Otuoma. “We were not supporting Ojaamong because he was a Teso but because we believed in him and we wanted him to finish the projects he had initiated,” Obwogo said, adding that Ojaamong is just wasting his time by trying to endorse his preferred candidate down our throats.

“Ojaamong is a poor student of history, he should have learnt a lesson from Moi who tried to force Uhuru Kenyatta down our throats in the 2002 presidential elections, his endorsement was soundly defeated” Hon. Obwago said.

Ojaamong has in the recent past tried to push for his preferred heir, something that has not been received well by the majority of county residents who have constantly accused him of wasting their ten years of devolution.
