Ruto’s UDA Camp is Full of ‘Traitors’ Who Have Made a Career out of Bashing President Uhuru Kenyatta

DP William Ruto

The Weekly Vision investigations have established that after working as a low cadre civil servant in President Daniel arap Moi’s administration, it is Uhuru Kenyatta who plucked Mr Rigathi Gachagua from the civil service and made him his PA before he was elected MP for Mathira Constituency

Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) outfit seems to be home to selfish and greedy political traitors who have gone on to stab President Uhuru Kenyatta in the back even after being pampered with influential political offices by the head of state.

Some of the said politicians have grown immensely wealthy as a result of their previous proximity to the President, whom they now accuse of all manner of economic ills currently facing the country. Today they have turned into traitors against their benefactor and in some cases a political mentor whom they now consider useless.

This came out in the open recently during the DP nominee running mates live TV debate when DP Ruto’s running mate Rigathi Gachagua relentlessly turned the event into a platform for disparaging the outgoing president, instead of outlining what his UDA party would do for the people of Kenya if their team assumes State power in the coming elections.

The Weekly Vision investigations have established that after working as a low cadre civil servant in President Daniel arap Moi’s administration, it is Uhuru Kenyatta who plucked Mr Rigathi Gachagua from the civil service and made him his PA before he was elected MP for Mathira Constituency. With Kenyatta’s political support base and his financing, Mr Gachagua was elected a member of parliament in 2017 on a Jubilee party ticket whose leader then was Uhuru. In that race, he edged out his then-rival Phyllis Wambura Maranga who later claimed that she had been rigged out of the Jubilee Party primaries.

The outgoing Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi has become wealthy after being revived politically by Uhuru Kenyatta; they have been close since their days in KANU, Mr Muturi has metamorphosed; he has now wormed his way into DP William Ruto’s camp at the expense of his political mentor, Uhuru Kenyatta

It is an open secret that Mr Rigathi Gachagua is currently embroiled in graft cases filed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) having filed a petition that has since seen some of his bank accounts with hundreds of millions of shillings being frozen on suspicion of being proceeds of corruption.

Others in the same category are:

Justin Muturi: The outgoing Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi has become wealthy after being revived politically by Uhuru Kenyatta; they have been close since their days in KANU. A former Jubilee legislator Captain Wambugu once told The Weekly Vision: ‘’ I was among a team that included the likes of David Murathe that was put together and funded by Uhuru Kenyatta using his resources over the years as he set his path to the presidency.”

He adds that once Uhuru Kenyatta assumed the presidency in 2013, he ensured Justin Muturi became the Speaker of the National Assembly. The Jubilee party MPs had to be ‘whipped’ into electing Mr Muturi as the speaker. Now in the twilight days of Kenyatta’s presidency, Mr Muturi has metamorphosed; he has now wormed his way into DP William Ruto’s camp at the expense of his political mentor, Uhuru Kenyatta.”

Anne Waiguru: The Kirinyaga County Governor was a little-known technocrat in government before Uhuru Kenyatta appointed her CS for Devolution in 2013. She hadn’t sought a cabinet position but was aiming for an appointment as PS instead. She quickly earned a reputation as one of the best-wired members of Uhuru’s Cabinet during his 1st term in office. It is an open secret that the NYS corruption furore that engulfed her ministry was a low point in her tenure. Though she limped on for a while, she had become a damaged brand and in 2015 she resigned, asking the President to assign her “lighter duties”. She bounced back into the limelight in 2017 when she ran for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial post on a Jubilee ticket, and won, despite her minimal political experience.

Moses Kuria: He is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s home constituency MP in Gatundu South. Mr Kuria was plucked from obscurity by Uhuru Kenyatta who proposed and vigorously campaigned for him. Gatundu south voters knew who was pulling the strings, Mr Kuria went in unopposed. He was re-elected in 2017. Today, Moses Kuria is a big critic of Uhuru Kenyatta; he does not spare the President’s immediate family members either in his attacks.

Johnson Sakaja: Uhuru Kenyatta made him chairman of his newly launched TNA party in 2012. He then nominated him to the National Assembly and in 2017, Jubilee financed him for Nairobi’s Senate seat.

J P Mwirigi: The 23-year-old was elected MP for Igembe South in 2017; Uhuru Kenyatta bought him his first car, a Mitsubishi Prado. Mr Mwirigi had travelled to Nairobi for his parliamentary induction using a matatu, and a relative gave him a place to sleep in Nairobi. The young man today is a devotee of UDA. Astonishingly, he recently said he owes Uhuru nothing.
