Run-away killer cop Caroline Kangogo could be getting information on the dragnet meant to arrest her through accomplices, a police source has told The Weekly Vision. It’s now almost a week since Kangogo was reported to have shot and killed two male associates, one a police constable and the other a Kiambu businessman.

Police say it is baffling that up to now she has not been found despite the massive dragnet rolled out countrywide including appeals to the public via media platforms and open briefings.

The Weekly Vision has established that a heavy contingent of regular police and sleuths from the DCI are burning the midnight oil in a frantic search for the elusive killer who many warn could kill again and again if not apprehended

The killer, according to police, who have warned the public that she is armed and dangerous, Kangogo has been sighted in several towns, Kericho, Bomet, Limuru and Bungoma, but somehow always manages to escape the dragnet! She has now left a cold trail as detectives keep sniffing for her whereabouts.

We have established that a heavy contingent of regular police and sleuths from the DCI are burning the midnight oil in a frantic search for the elusive killer who many warn could kill again and again if not apprehended. Top Nairobi psychiatrist Dr Frank Njenga, also the chairman of the National Task Force on Mental Health has warned that Caroline could have a “homicidal” double personality that has triggered the killings.

Dr Njenga says growing “crimes of passion” are driven by “split personality” warning that the cop could kill again if not apprehended in time. Kangogo’s first victim was Police Constable John Ogweno, who was found dead in his car at Kasarani Police Line in Nakuru. Kangogo is believed to have fled with the deceased’s firearm, a Ceska pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.

Her second victim was a 32-year-old man who was identified as Peter Ndwiga, a resident of Juja. According to CCTV footage obtained from Jogoo Kimakia County Lodge, Kangogo and the would-be victim spent the better part of Monday together, enjoying drinks. The two later booked a hotel room number 107 at Hotel Dedamax along the Thika Superhighway. Cameras captured the two at the hotel at around 10 pm and records show Ndwiga paid for the room in cash Kshs 3,000.

Kangogo is a well-trained police officer who pursued a shooting range course at Kiganjo and later a corporal course at the same institution. She has served in four different police stations and her colleagues described her as a social person who also knew how to deal with prisoners.“Let nobody trust her since she is armed and dangerous. Should you spot the suspect who is covering herself in a buibui, do not hesitate to contact us,” read a tweet by the DCI in part.
