A political pact signed over the weekend between Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja and Kalonzo Musyoka’s Kenya Alliance (OKA), witnessed by President Uhuru Kenyatta is a powerful political Tsunami.

The deal signed just five months away from the August 9th elections is a development that shows just how potent the alliance has become compared to their closest rival, Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.

Kenya Kwanza is a coalition comprising Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress (ANC), DP Ruto’s UDA, Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya and other smaller parties. The deal between Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka is likely to force Kenya Kwanza back to the drawing board, to plan how to counter the raging storm that the Azimio Alliance portends.
