The latest Tifa poll indicates that DP. Ruto has narrowed the gap between him and Mr Odinga who previously polled at 42 per cent against the DP’s 39 per cent in what has been a gruelling campaign, with just a few days remaining to the decisive polling day on August 9th

The latest opinion poll released last week by various Pollsters indicates that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya’s Raila Amolo Odinga remains the most popular Presidential candidate at 46.7 per cent while Kenya Kwanza’s William Ruto now stands at 44.4 per cent, according to Tifa. Another poll by the Centre for African Progress has the former Premier at 52 per cent while DP. Ruto is at 45 per cent.

The latest Tifa poll indicates that DP. Ruto has narrowed the gap between him and Mr Odinga who previously polled at 42 per cent against the DP’s 39 per cent in what has been a gruelling campaign, with just a few days remaining to the decisive polling day on August 9th. “With just a few days until the election, Raila Odinga maintains a very narrow lead over William Ruto in the presidential contest. Though as at the last opinion poll, Mr Odinga was and is still leading in 21 counties compared to Ruto’s lead in only 16 counties “the Tifa report indicates.

The report goes on to document that: “The presence of two other Presidential candidates, Prof George Wajackoya of Roots Party and Mwaure Waihiga of Agano Party has raised the possibility of neither Mr Odinga nor DP Ruto failing to secure an outright, first-round win in the poll.

Mr Odinga enjoys fanatical support in Nyanza, Western, South Rift, and Nairobi, Coast and Lower Eastern regions, while Dr Ruto enjoys most of his support in Central Rift and Mt Kenya regions.

According to the poll, UDA is still the most popular political party across the country, followed by ODM, Jubilee, Wiper and Roots Party while the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party is the most popular across the country at 47 per cent, followed by Kenya Kwanza Alliance at 42 per cent.
