Azimio la Umija One Kenya Alliance Presidential Flagbearer Raila Odinga has said that he will close all loopholes of corruption if elected to office come 9th August. He regretted that Kenyans have lost huge sums of money through corruption.
The former Premier spoke at Gidea secondary school in Kwanza Sub-County in Trans Nzoia County last week during the burial of an ODM member of the board of trustees the late Jotham Nyukuri. ODM had only four members of the board of trustees among them Raila’s eldest brother Oburu Odinga, Timothy Bosire, the late Jotham Nyukuri and Joshua Kawino. He eulogized the late Nyukuri as a steadfast member of the Orange Democratic Movement.
” Nyukuri was a steadfast personality who stood with us at all times from the days of the late Masinde Muliro, Wamalwa Kijana and other champions of the second liberation”, he said. He hinted that the Azimio one Kenya will forever change the political landscape of Kenya for the betterment of all people irrespective of their race and political affiliation.
He exuded confidence that he will be forming the next government which will create wealth for all through his economic module where those who are not in employment will benefit from a monthly stipend of Sh. 6,000. Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa who accompanied Odinga hit out at the Ford Kenya regime whose governor is Patrick Khaemba for doing nothing to uplift the lives of those who elected him.
Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya described ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula as cowards fighting for their stomachs. ” It’s high time that the Luhya community stay united, gather votes in one basket to enable Raila Odinga to become President. Those who went to Kenya Kwanza went to fulfil their selfish interests”, he said.
Former Minister Dr Noah Mahalang’ang’a Wekesa predicted that the 2022 general election outcome at the Presidential level will favour Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Presidential candidate Raila Odinga. ” I learned the art of predicting what will happen in the future that Raila Odinga will become President of Kenya”, said Wekesa while drumming support for DAP-K which is supporting Raila’s bid.
EALA MP Oburu Odinga urged Kenyans to support his brother whom he said doesn’t keep grudges. ” Raila has love and passion for people even as a brother I wonder his commitment he has for Kenyans and I’m telling you the truth that he is one person who is not corrupt”, he said.
Mr Odinga later addressed a mammoth rally at Kiminini Market where he endorsed former Regional Commissioner George Natembeya for the Trans Nzoia Gubernatorial seat. Kiminini is home to Ford Kenya secretary-general Dr Chris Wamalwa of Kenya Kwanza. Natembeya asked residents of Trans Nzoia County and the country at large to support Raila Odinga for the President, saying he had fought for the democratic space being enjoyed by those vilifying him now.
