ODM leader Raila Odinga will be landing in Trans-Nzoia County tomorrow for day-long public rallies amid excitement from residents. Saboti MP Caleb Amisi said preparations to host the former premier had been finalized. The ODM legislator said concerns by residents await the ODM presidential candidate as he visits the county, the first since his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Hon. Amisi said the residents are excited with Raila’s visit and they expect him to address some of the pertinent issues affecting residents in the county. He said that some of the concerns which residents will be seeking from the former Premier include falling prices of maize, squatters and neglected roads to farming regions. Addressing journalists in Kitale, Amisi said residents have high expectations from Raila as he visits the area.
“Our farmers have been discouraged by the prices announced by Strategic Food Reserve of Ksh. 2,700 per 90 kg bag and they expect Mr Odinga to address the issues,” -Hon. Amisi
“Residents are excited about the visit and they expect the ODM leader to tell them how his government would deal with issues such as the high cost of farm inputs, poor prices of maize, squatters and neglected roads,” said Amisi. Residents, he said are disappointed at the current prices of maize as offered by the government, which stands at Ksh. 2,700 per 90 kg bag.

He took issues with the lack of tarmac roads in his constituency which produces both seed and commercial maize. Raila is expected to land at Sibanga market and will address rallies in the area. The former premier would make a stopover in Kwanza- centre, Kolongolo and Endebess to address residents.
From Endebess, his convoy will head to Matisi, Mitume,Tuwan and Kitale town. In the evening, the ODM leader will address rallies at Kiminini and Sikhendu markets. He is then expected to proceed to Kakamega where he will address rallies on Sunday.
