Controversial televangelist Pastor John Nganga of NENO Evangelism Center is once again in the eye of a fresh storm after being accused by members of his church of preaching “water while taking wine”. Pastor Nganga recently divorced his wife for some unknown reasons. Faithful’s have accused him of “extortion”, of being fleeced out of millions of shillings by the pastor through “cash for prayers” services.

The Pastor appears to have gone a notch higher and now sells “anointing” oil, charging church members a fee of between Ksh. 6,000.00 to Kshs.25, 000.00

The controversial preacher alongside another one called Pastor Kangari of the “310” infamy is said to have turned the church into a money minting machine. Angry faithful’s who include a policeman have complained. Apostle Jacob lambasted Mr Nganga for duping faithful’s. They claimed far from being a “born-again” servant of God, he consumes alcohol and is a chain smoker! Mr Nganga once knocked down a pregnant woman instantly killing her, he is said to have been driving while drunk from a function in Naivasha.

Mr Nganga is currently fighting his Deacons and church elders whom he accuses of undermining his authority. The Pastor appears to have gone a notch higher and now sells “anointing” oil, charging church members a fee of between Ksh. 6,000.00 to Kshs.25, 000.00. “But Jesus never charged for his miracles” many faithful’s have been heard lamenting bitterly! Pastor Kangari’s church on the other hand was true to its slogan, it even managed to buy a helicopter for its founding pastor!

The “prosperity” gospel mostly preached by flashily dressed preachers has repeatedly been faulted by faithful’s. The greed exhibited by men of the Clothe has seen congregations dwindle overnight leaving mostly elderly women to attend church services on Sunday’s. Lunchtime and evening church services have virtually ground to a halt.
