Kalonzo’s Plan To Lock Raila Odinga From A First Round Win

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka

The DP’s political strategists are alive to the massive challenge presented by the super alliance cobbled out by President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga

Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and One Kenya Alliance (OKA) co-principal may have chosen to go all the way to the ballot come August 9th in order to lock Raila Odinga from winning the presidency in the first round, sources have now disclosed.

He hopes to join DP William Ruto in a rerun thereafter. The sources at the Wiper party headquarters spoke to The Weekly Vision Online claiming Mr Kalonzo had struck a deal with deputy president William Ruto to work together ahead of the next elections and after.

According to the sources embattled DP William Ruto is facing the “mother of all political alliances” Azimio la Umoja and is eager to win over Mr Kalonzo, he is reported to have agreed to a payout of Ksh. 2 billion from the DP for his campaign kitty. The DP’s political strategists are alive to the massive challenge presented by the super alliance cobbled out by President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

DP Ruto’s top advisers claim they have all but managed to seal a deal with Kalonzo who is expected to be supportive of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance that include ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and FORD Kenya Moses Wetangula

The alliance brings together 29 political parties from across the country under the Azmio La Umoja umbrella in support of Raila Odinga. Kalonzo Musyoka’s move is viewed as strategic to deny Mr Odinga a critical block of votes from Ukambani. Another huge block of Kamba voters loyal to Kalonzo resides at the coast.

DP Ruto’s top advisers claim they have all but managed to seal a deal with Kalonzo who is expected to be supportive of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance that include ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and FORD Kenya Moses Wetangula. Kalonzo has since hoped into a plane for Kampala where he held talks with Uganda President Yoweri Museveni.

According to the sources Mr Museveni, a close ally of DP Ruto is said to have encouraged the OKA co-principal to avoid that “man Laila” at all costs! Kalonzo has since declared he won’t attend the planned joint Azmio NDC to be held on March 12-13, refusing to buy the bait of challenging Mr Odinga for the Azmio presidential ticket. His key aides are categorical Azmio is “no longer an option” for discussion on the table. He instead asked Odinga to honour the pre-2017 election deal and step aside in his favour something ODM has roundly dismissed.
