Kalonzo Musyoka’s OKA Embroiled In A Stormy Political Headwind

Deputy President William Ruto with Ex VP Kalonzo Musyoka

Separately Mr Odinga told Mr Kalonzo to “board the Azmio train or take a walk” something that has not gone down well with Kalonzo’s supporters

The One Kenya Alliance (OKA) has once again failed to seal a deal with that Azmio la Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Amollo Odinga, a deal which was to have been signed on Tuesday after the latter begged for more time to “consult” further throwing unity talks into a fresh spin.

The man of the moment is Wiper leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka who is on record for declaring that he would be “very stupid” if he supported Mr Odinga for the third time! He faces rebellion from his Kamba home-turf where three pro-Azmio Governors’ have launched campaigns to market Mr Raila Odinga as their preferred presidential candidate.

DP William Ruto’s side of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance is said to be burning midnight oil scheming to stop Kalonzo from boarding the Azmio express train!

Some of the locals have however insisted that they will follow the direction Mr Kalonzo goes and not the three rebel governors whom they claim have no substantial following in the region. For the whole week, the Wiper boss has been front-page headline news in local dailies and online publications.

He stunned many when he tabled an alleged secret power-sharing deal with Mr Odinga signed in 2017 which he insists must be honoured. Separately Mr Odinga told Mr Kalonzo to “board the Azmio train or take a walk” something that has not gone down well with Kalonzo’s supporters. DP William Ruto’s side of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance is said to be burning midnight oil scheming to stop Kalonzo from boarding the Azmio express train! Many say if the DP can win over Kalonzo the power matrix odds that have been multiplying against him could be halted.

They say this would give DP Ruto a fighting chance against the massive alliance cobbled by his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta. Kenyatta has replayed the 2001 drama then fronted by President Daniel Moi who was stepping down from power. President Moi introduced then greenhorn Uhuru Kenyatta as his preferred heir and told his vice President of 11 years Prof. George Saitoti that he could not be trusted with power. History has an uncanny way of repeating itself, especially on holders of Kenya’s most thankless office that is the VP.
