Hon. Mogoria will contest through the National Agenda Party of Kenya (NAP-K) after rejecting advances from CS Eugene Wamalwa’s DAP-K party

By The Weekly Vision Online

The contest for the post of governor of Busia County in the coming general elections has taken a dramatic turn after Hon. Dan Mogoria announced his entry into the race. It emerged yesterday that he will contest through the National Agenda Party of Kenya (NAP-K) after rejecting advances from CS Eugene Wamalwa’s DAP-K party.

The DAP-K party then handed the nomination certificate to deputy governor Moses Mulomi who had expressed some interest. Sources however hinted to The Weekly Vision that Mr Mulomi’s name may not even appear on the ballot paper for the August elections.

The move is in respect of the arrangements within the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance affiliated political party’s dubbed ‘zoning’, in which affiliated political parties agreed not to contest against each other in some areas of the country. The zoning has already claimed its first casualty in the county after the Jubilee party recalled the nomination certificate issued earlier to Lukas Meso.

Hon Mogoria will face off against Kenya Kwanza’s John Sakwa Bunyasi, Paul Nyongesa Otwoma of ODM and Moses Mulomi of DAP-K. Unlike his three opponents Hon. Mogoria is a fresh and attractive face in that contest who may just carry the day in August. Read How Dan Mogoria’s Move Sent Shockwaves Within Rival Camps In Busia
