Deputy President William Ruto has laughed off threats to kick him out of the ruling party Jubilee party. Ruto one of the front-runners in the 2022 Presidential race wondered which “Wing of Jubilee they are talking about”, is it the Jubilee “ODM” formed March 2018 or UDA Jubilee?

DP Ruto claims that the Jubilee party that ” we all knew” in 2013 is as “dead as a dodo”, such a claim in 1975 about the KANU party by then fiery Butere MP Martin Shikuku landed him in jail. Mr Shikuku had dared to tread where even angels dreaded! That was during the reign of founding President Jomo Kenyatta.

Powerful with little patience for frivolous conduct, promptly ordered Shikuku locked up. Shikuku stunned parliament then as a storm raged over the shocking murder of populist Nyandarau MP J.M. Kariuki. The fiery Butere MP was man renown for speaking his mind without fear! Shikuku was at independence in the opposition KADU with Mr Daniel Moi. They would later cross the floor in 1965 and join the ruling party KANU together with their party boss Ronald Ngala.

But the bitter fallout between independence allies Jomo, and his deputy Jaramogi Odinga, shook the ruling party KANU to the core.
